Can you overdose on CBD? Is it legal? Does it get you high? Here are 5 myths about CBD

There is a lot of misconception about CBD, its benefits and what it can do. Here are the top 5 CBD myths.

1. CBD makes you high

CBD is and abbreviation cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is a different compound to THC which is found in Marijuana plants that is psychoactive. Cannabidiol is extracted from the hemp plant which contains very low amounts of THC, usually less than 0.3% and would not result in feelings of intoxication. Hemp and marijuana plants are different variety of cannabis species and therefore have different effects, which can cause confusion between CBD and Marijuana.

2. CBD is illegal

The sale of CBD and products containing CBD  have been legal in the UK since 2016. Associating CBD with marijuana is incorrect as CBD adheres to all UK and EU regulation.

3. You can overdose on CBD

There has never been a recorded case of overdosing ever of CBD. If you take excessive amounts of CBD the body would simply not absorb and excrete from your body. Taking excessive amount, is known for causing diarrhoea and drowsiness, similar to taking excessive vitamins.

4. CBD will show up on drug tests

WADA (the World Anti-Doping Authority) do not include cannabidiol in the list of prohibited substances, therefore athletes can use CBD while competing in competitions. Cannabidiol wont show up in any generic drug test. However if you consume unregulated CBD products which contain THC you may fail. CBD is completely legal and is considered a novel food, using there is no risk failing a drug test when you use Country Boys Collective CBD.

5. CBD from Hemp is not as good as CBD from Marijuana

CBD is the same, no matter what type of cannabis plant it comes from. Once cannabidiol is extracted into oil from the plant the difference is negligible as the body doesn't have the ability to tell where the CBD originates. No matter what plant that it's derived from CBD it all works together with your body's endocannabinoid system, helping the regulating of vital body functions.
