Cannabigerol (CBG) is a cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant and is the precursor to the more commonly known cannabinoids such as CBD and THC.

CBG-A is found in the plant a few weeks into the flowering stage of growth and from there breaks down into CBG, CBD, THC and more.

There has been a lot of interest in the potential benefits of this cannabinoid and its interaction with the body. It is non psychoactive and interacts with the same receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system, much like CBD, and has shown to have anti-inflammatory effects according to a study done in 2018. CBG does not have as much research behind it as CBD but is starting to get the acknowledgement it deserves. Its benefits are not totally clear yet, but the small amount of research done is showing it targets less ailments than CBD but what it does target it does better, such as Huntington’s disease, appetite loss and many others.
